  • 1️⃣ CLIENT PROCESS – FROM FIRST CALL TO DELIVERY

    Phase 1 – Initial Discovery Consult

    Purpose: Understand story, emotional weight, scope, budget.

    Length: 45–60 minutesFormat: Zoom or in-personCharge:

    • $150 (credited toward project if they move forward)

    • OR free if you pre-qualify high-end clients

    What happens:

    • Hear the story (this is huge for memorial pieces)

    • Determine size (coffee table, parlor table, wall piece)

    • Identify artifacts available

    • Discuss display vs functional

    • Establish budget range ($6K–$25K typical range)

    • Explain epoxy process + risks

    Deliverable:Summary email + rough pricing range

    Phase 2 – Concept & Design Session

    Purpose: Translate emotion into layout.

    Length: 90 minutesCharge: $400–$750(non-refundable, applies toward build if approved)

    What happens:

    • Designer joins

    • Layout mockups shown

    • Wood species chosen

    • Leg style selected

    • Depth of pour determined

    • Artifact arrangement strategy

    • Approve typography & engraving

    Deliverables:

    • 2–3 renderings

    • Material sample box (walnut, cherry, exotic, resin tint)

    • Written quote

    Phase 3 – Final Design Approval

    Length: 30–45 minCharge: Included

    Client signs:

    • Final rendering

    • Artifact placement map

    • Epoxy depth spec

    • Risk waiver (yellowing, natural movement, etc.)

    • 50% deposit collected

    2️⃣ PRODUCTION PROCESS (What Actually Happens in Shop)

    This is where people underestimate the work.

    Step A – Artifact Prep (5–10 hours)

    • Flattening documents

    • Sealing photos (epoxy-safe)

    • Stabilizing fabrics

    • Coating metals to prevent bubbles

    • Testing reaction with resin

    ⚠️ This is CRITICAL. One mistake ruins heirlooms.

    Step B – Base Build (10–25 hours)

    • Mill hardwood

    • Laminate ring or slab

    • Build containment dam

    • Sand + seal interior

    • Mount base hardware

    Step C – Dry Layout Session (2–4 hours)

    Photograph every piece.Client signs off on placement before pour.

    Step D – Deep Pour Process (3–5 days total)

    For 3" pour:

    • Layer 1: Seal coat

    • Layer 2: 1” pour

    • Cure 24–48 hrs

    • Layer 3: 1”

    • Cure

    • Final 1”

    • Torch bubbles

    • Dust control environment

    You cannot rush this.

    Material cost alone:

    • 54" round @ 3" deep = 10–14 gallons resin

    • High-end epoxy = $110–$150 per gallon

    Resin alone: $1,200–$2,000

    Step E – Flatten & Finish (8–15 hours)

    • CNC flatten or router sled

    • Progressive sanding 80 → 3000 grit

    • Buff polish

    • UV protectant

    • Install legs

    • Final QC
