About B3 Technologies, LLC

Faith. Family. Craft.

Bill Beneke was one of ten children raised on an Iowa farm in the small town of Palmer. Life there was demanding and honest. You learned how to work, how to fix what broke, and how to show up for the people around you. If something needed building, you built it.

He didn’t love farming as much as he loved creating. While others saw fields, Bill saw design. He sketched barns and buildings. He sang. He dribbled a basketball on a crushed rock driveway that demanded control long before finesse ever mattered.

But the deepest lessons didn’t come from the fields.

They came from his father.

The Foundation

Bill’s father was the youngest of six children. He lost his father at two years old and was raised by a mother who never remarried. When it was his turn, he married his high-school sweetheart, took up the plow, and built a life on that Iowa soil.

He didn’t talk much about values. He lived them.

For over seventy years he worked the same land, served the same church, and showed up for the same family. Faith was steady. Family was central. Farming was a responsibility.

That quiet, disciplined life became the foundation Bill would later build upon—not only in business, but in belief and character.

The Winter of Loss

In the mid-1970s, a brutal Iowa winter changed everything.

Bill and his brother Bob were raising sheep of their own, and when the storms came, they lost most of the flock. It was their responsibility — and their loss.

At the same time, a grove of black walnut trees on the family farm was devastated by extreme cold and disease.

What could have been waste became purpose.

Bill’s father had the walnut trees milled and dried rather than discarded. The wood was donated to the local high school’s industrial arts program. From that same walnut, Bill built his first major piece — a grandfather clock.

During the build, he lost a finger. It ended his ability to play guitar the way he once had. But it did not end his desire to create.

The clock stood.

The wood endured.

Loss became craftsmanship.

That lesson stayed with him.

From Architecture to Leadership

After high school, Bill attended Iowa State University to study architecture. But sitting behind a drafting table felt confining to someone who preferred to build with his hands and lead with initiative. He shifted to business, discovering that leadership — like architecture — requires structure, integrity, and vision.

His love for Cyclone athletics deepened there. Sport reinforced what the farm had already taught him: discipline, teamwork, humility, perseverance.

Once a Cyclone, always a Cyclone.

Paying It Forward

Bill married his wife, Karla Sue, and together they built their family through adoption — welcoming Hannah from China and Zach from Vietnam. The driveway once again filled with basketballs.

He coached both children through their youth and high school careers. Zach would later earn a college scholarship. Today, both are building meaningful lives and careers of their own.

The lessons were never just about basketball.

They were about presence.

Consistency.

Showing up.

The Three B’s

After decades of leadership and learning, Bill returned to what always grounded him — the workshop, the gym, and the music.

He calls it his Three B’s:

Building — Crafting heirloom-quality tables and furniture designed to bring people together.
Bouncing — Coaching youth basketball and teaching values that endure beyond the game.
Bellowing — Singing, laughing, and lifting the room — because joy belongs at the table too.

B3 Technologies, LLC

The BEAM. The BOARD. The BUILD.

B3 exists to help people Build, Bond, and Belong.

  • The BEAM is belief — the foundation that holds everything upright.

  • The BOARD is where story lives — wood shaped by time, carrying memory forward.

  • The BUILD is craftsmanship — turning material into something meant to last.

From Iowa walnut to heirloom tables.

From a crushed rock driveway to boardrooms.

From farm discipline to thoughtful design.

The philosophy remains the same:

  • The most important things we build aren’t just objects.

  • They are places where families gather.

  • Where leaders make decisions.

  • Where stories are told.

  • Where faith, family, and hard-earned wisdom endure — quietly, but permanently.
